Transfer students are a vital part of the college community, and contribute substantially to academic and extracurricular life. New York’s independent colleges welcome qualified applicants.
Qualified students who wish to transfer from accredited two-year and four-year institutions should have complete transcripts forwarded from all colleges previously attended, as well as a secondary school transcript. Certification of good standing at the previous institution should also be provided. In addition, some colleges require the results of the SAT or the ACT.
Policies related to transfer admission, acceptance of credit, advanced standing, financial aid, and housing vary from college to college – ask your college admission counselor lots of questions.
